Roulette is a beautiful game with a somewhat dubious history which gives this mysterious and nerve-racking game an extra dimension. The roulette game has two nicknames, namely the queen of the casino and the game of the devil; if you add all the numbers together you get 666, the number of the devil.

AMERICAN ROULETTE AND EUROPEAN ROULETTE
In most cases, players get an option between playing European roulette (one zero) and American roulette (two zeros). The difference between the two games is very small, of course the American roulette has an extra zero (00) and that gives the American roulette more house advantage than with European roulette.
With American roulette the house has an advantage of 5.26% and with European roulette the house has an advantage of 2.7%. So be wise if you are going to play roulette, then play European roulette!

Roulette was first played in the 17 e century France. It is nowadays one of the most popular gambling games in Europe. Monaco is a famous place in Europe with many casinos where plenty of roulette is played.
THE BASE
Players, usually a maximum of eight, play against the house (casino), which is represented by the dealer, also called dealer. The dealer turns the roulette wheel and manages and controls bets and payouts. In the European roulette the wheel has 37 slots or holes, each with its own number from 0 to 36. In the American model, most roulette wheels have two zeros and therefore 38 slots.
Each player receives a different color of chips for his or her money so that one cannot get confused. At the end of the round you will receive cash tokens for your won, colored tokens. These cash tokens almost always have a currency value printed on them and you can return them to the cashier for real money at the end of the evening.
To play, you must bet on one of the numbers shown on a table. You can bet on one number, or on several, with a chip by placing the chip in the field on multiple numbers. After everyone has had a chance to bet, the dealer will spin the wheel and throw a ball into it. Just before the ball stops, the croupier will ask everyone not to bet anything anymore. Only after the croupier has put the dolly on the winning number and has arranged all payments, may it be wagered again. Everyone who has chosen the winning number (or its color) wins.
THE ADVANTAGE OF THE HOUSE
On a table with one zero, the casino advantage is 2.7%. For a table with two zeros, this advantage increases by 5.26% (7.9% chance of the five-number bet; 0-00-1-2-3). The advantage of the house is obtained, among other things, by giving the winners one or two less chips as a kind of commission.
THE EN PRISON RULE
This rule is used by some casinos. When the ball in the roulette wheel ends at 0, it is possible in some casinos that players may take back half of their bets, or leave the bet for the next round. However, when the ball returns to 0 in the second case, the bet is lost.
THE LA PARTAGE RULE
This rule is similar to the En Prison rule, but the player now only loses half of his or her bet and can no longer choose to leave the bet. This rule applies to bets outside the number field. This therefore concerns the bets red / black, high / low, even / odd. Both the En prison and the La Partage rule increase the chances for the players and reduce the chances for the casino. THE PAYOUTS
